Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data UniClub collects, how we use it and what rights you have. By using the app you accept this policy.

1. Data we collect

UniClub processes the following data for campus events, club memberships and announcements:

Important: UniClub does not use advertising networks, IDFA or behavioural ad profiling. We never sell your data for advertising.

When you join a club, the first name, last name and student number you provide are shared with that club’s managers so they can verify your membership.

2. Storage and security

Data is stored on secure servers (Firebase / Google Cloud) and, where needed, on your device.
All traffic is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS).
Access to Firestore is restricted by security rules.
Account deletion: you can delete your account and the associated personal profile data from Profile → Settings → Delete my account.

3. Third-party services

Apple App Store — app distribution
Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, storage and notification infrastructure
Expo (EAS) — app build and update infrastructure

Each service has its own privacy policy.

4. Cookies and tracking

The UniClub mobile app:

does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA)
does not use third-party ad networks
does not perform behavioural ad profiling

5. Sponsored content and coupons

Your feed may occasionally include sponsored cards from local businesses. These cards are labelled “Sponsored” and are published directly by UniClub — no third-party ad network, cookie or advertising identifier is involved.

Targeting uses only the faculty / department on your profile. The business never receives your identity, email address or student number.
How many times a card was opened is kept as an aggregate number and reported to the business only as a total.
If you claim a coupon, the coupon and your display name appear on the business’s till screen so the coupon can be redeemed. If you do not claim a coupon, nothing about you is shared with the business.

6. Children’s privacy

UniClub is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe this has happened, contact us at canonder96@gmail.com.

We act as data controller under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, No. 6698) and other applicable privacy legislation. Your personal data is processed for the purposes described above and is never shared with third parties for marketing without your explicit consent.

9. User content and reporting

Club announcements are created by users. If you see inappropriate content you can report it with Report on the announcement. Reports are reviewed by an administrator and content may be hidden or removed.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes we update the “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the current policy.
